According to businesswire, Western Union announced the launch of USDPT, a U.S. dollar stablecoin on the Solana blockchain. USDPT is issued by Anchorage Digital Bank and fully backed 1:1 by U.S. dollars. The stablecoin will be integrated into Western Union’s global payment system to provide on-chain settlement capabilities for cross-border payments, combining blockchain efficiency with the company’s global compliance and distribution network.
