
According to an official announcement published on May 8 on X by the XRP Ledger Foundation, the foundation has formally entered a more open collaborative phase within the XRP ecosystem, and introduced a core management team responsible for day-to-day operations, engineering coordination, and community engagement. The announcement includes role and background descriptions for the Executive Director, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Operations Director, and Community Lead.
According to an official announcement from the XRP Ledger Foundation on May 8, 2026, the core management positions are held by the following individuals:
Brett Mollin, Executive Director: Responsible for setting strategic direction, co-planning long-term priorities with the board of directors, and overseeing engineering, community, operations, and partner relationships.
Denis Angell, Chief Technology Officer (CTO): Transferred from XRPL Labs. One of the most active contributors to the XRPL codebase, he will lead engineering work, including technical direction, revision development, standard setting, and contributions on the production side.
Rene Huijsen, Operations Director: Responsible for the operational framework for financial coordination and support for the team’s work. He previously served as Ripple’s Payments Operations Director for many years, and has also participated in the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) working group on cross-border payment interoperability and expansion.
Hussein Zangana (handle Vet), Community Lead: Responsible for dissemination, community media operations, interactions with validators and developers, event organization, outreach work, and content creation. His work background covers infrastructure, proposals, document writing, education promotion, X Spaces, and XRP Cafe.
According to the XRP Ledger Foundation’s official announcement, the foundation states: “ The mission of the XRP Ledger Foundation is to support the XRP Ledger and all its builders ” and, in the announcement, says that this update aims to promote broad collaboration with developers, validators, infrastructure operators, and community advocates.
The foundation further states in the announcement: “ We are starting to collaborate with stakeholders in the XRP ecosystem to advance across all areas of community and technology—open, transparent, and oriented toward the public. ” The foundation says that the leadership team will represent the foundation at ecosystem discussions, development work, and public activities throughout the year.
