China’s first brainrot character is considered to be Ren Guo Ping (人果苹).

The Italian Brainrot trend (AI generated absurd characters) went global in early 2025 with Tralalero Tralala, and in China it went viral under the name “Foreign Shan Hai Jing” (外国山海经). However, China also developed its own localized adaptations, known as Chinese Brainrot.
According to sources such as the Italian Brainrot Wiki, the first Chinese version was Ren Guo Ping. This character is regarded as the starting point of the Chinese brainrot movement.
