Will Powell crash the market tonight? Fed meeting, will Bitcoin plummet? What exactly will happen, let's take a sneak peek.
1. Three major events will happen tonight! First is the 2 AM interest rate decision and the Fed funds rate projections for the next 3 years. The interest rate decision is nothing special - definitely no rate cuts. What the market cares most about is this future rate projection matrix.
2. At that time, 19 voting members will vote on their expectations for Fed rates over the coming years, and the results will be displayed on the projection matrix, providing market guidance for future interest rates. The macroeconomic impact is enormous. Given that oil has caused inflation to surge significantly, this projection matrix is really not optimistic.
3. But that's not all - right after at 2:30 AM is Powell's speech, where he may discuss views on stagflation, which isn't particularly optimistic. Personally, I think the bearish probability tonight is quite high.
4. The third event is the subsequent impact. We had a special analysis in our article on the 13th - after 4 Fed meetings last year, Bitcoin fell every single time, with declines ranging from 10-30%, lasting around 2 weeks. Will it be the same this time? I think we need to be cautious.
5. So overall, I think tonight could be a turning point for the market. Personally, I'm holding low-leverage long-term short positions, and I think the probability of a long-term decline is quite high. For short-term trading, we can just do long/short scalping at major support and resistance levels.
6. Like yesterday afternoon when Shuqin said to take profits on ETH shorts at 2310, then we could short again on the rebound. Sure enough, at 11 PM last night he came through, we had everyone short on the spot, and the coin price was 2350. Within half an hour, it dropped again - that's how fast it is. Whether bull or bear market, we can trade both long and short~
