JUST IN: The SEC took a step that could significantly alter the legal treatment of many crypto assets in the United States by sending the White House an interpretative proposal that defines which tokens should not be considered securities under federal law.
The SEC submitted an interpretative proposal on crypto assets to the White House Office of Management and Budget.
The text states that digital commodities, digital tools, digital collectibles, and stablecoins would not be considered securities.
