JUST IN: CoinDCX CEO Sumit Gupta spoke publicly for the first time since his arrest in a cyber fraud case in India, announcing a $12 million initiative to combat crypto scams after the case lost momentum due to a lack of direct evidence against the exchange's founders.

Gupta said his arrest served as a wake up call regarding the weaknesses of India's digital security system.
The CoinDCX program will allocate $12 million to police training, verification, and awareness campaigns.
