I am commenting on the STRK token in the Layer 2 sector: Starknet's ZK-STARKs technology really stands out
Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about Ethereum's scalability issues, and there is serious competition among Layer 2 solutions. My observation is that the STRK token will play an important role here.
Starting with the technical side, Starknet's use of ZK-STARKs offers a very different approach. The biggest difference that sets it apart from other Layer 2s is that this technology does not require a trusted initial setup. In terms of transparency, it is much cleaner. Additionally, its resistance to quantum computers also seems important in the long term. Transaction fees are also significantly reduced; the combination of off-chain computation and on-chain verification is truly effective.
Regarding the economic model of the STRK token, it is not just a speculation tool. It gives you a say in Starknet's governance, pays for transaction fees on the network, and a staking mechanism could be introduced in the future. As network activity increases, demand for the token is expected to grow.
Compared to competing Layer 2s, Arbitrum and Optimism are already established, but Starknet's ZK approach is unique. zkSync is on a similar path, but Starknet's technological infrastructure appears more solid. As investors, we should closely monitor the total value locked (TVL) (locked value), active user numbers, and which projects are migrating to Starknet.
Regarding risks, honestly, the token distribution schedule is important. Unlocking tokens by early investors and the team could create selling pressure. Also, since the technology is still in development, speed is critical. The regulatory risks of the overall Layer 2 sector should also be considered.
In my opinion, the comment on the STRK token is: investing in a project that aims to solve Ethereum's scalability problem. The ZK-STARKs technology is really interesting, and how well Starknet utilizes it will determine the token's value. It is an attractive option for those looking to invest in Web3 infrastructure.
