House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that the House has formally received the White House’s request to retract a total of $9.4 billion in wasteful foreign aid expenditures for the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Public Broadcasting Service, and others. Mike Johnson mentioned that the House will act swiftly. It is reported that after the proposal is submitted, Congress will have 45 days to process it.
