According to VTV, tonight (4/4), General Secretary To Lam had a phone call with President Donald Trump about the relations between the two countries.
General Secretary To Lam appreciated the exchange, in which the two leaders affirmed their desire to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation, contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region and around the world.
The two leaders assessed that the relations between the two countries are developing well in all fields.
Regarding bilateral trade relations, the two leaders exchanged measures to continue promoting trade, in which General Secretary Tô Lâm affirmed that Vietnam is willing to negotiate with America to bring the import tax on goods imported from America to 0%.
The General Secretary also stated that Vietnam has a growing demand for importing more goods from America, while affirming that it will encourage and create favorable conditions for companies from America to further enhance their investment in Vietnam.
The two leaders affirmed that they will exchange views to soon sign a bilateral cooperation agreement between the two countries, in order to specify the commitments made.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam respectfully invited President Donald Trump and the First Lady to visit Vietnam again soon. President Donald Trump gladly accepted the invitation and expressed his desire to meet General Secretary To Lam again soon, while respectfully asking General Secretary To Lam to convey his warm regards to the leaders and people of Vietnam.
