The Founder Left the Project with a Sudden Decision in This Altcoin: Explained the Reason!

Mihailo Bjelic, one of the co-founders of Polygon, announced that he has stepped down from active management roles in the project and has resigned from the boards of Polygon Labs and the Polygon Foundation.

The reason for the decision was cited as “diverging visions”. In the last two years, other founding partners Jaynti Kanani and Anurag Arjun had also left the project.

X ( In a statement made via Twitter) under its former name, Bjelic stated, “As projects develop and mature, visions can change, even diverge. In this regard, I no longer believe I can contribute to Polygon in the best way possible.” However, Bjelic, who continues to have faith in the project, said, “I believe that Polygon’s leadership is committed to bringing the project to success. I will always support from the sidelines.”

Bjelic is leaving his positions at Polygon Labs, the main development studio of Polygon, and the Polygon Foundation. He had co-founded the project, which was established in 2017 as an Ethereum-based Layer-2 solution under the name Matic Network, alongside Jaynti Kanani, Sandeep Nailwal, and Anurag Arjun.

Polygon has made significant R&D contributions in areas such as zero-knowledge proof and proof-of-stake to date. By the end of 2024, a token transition process was initiated in which MATIC tokens were exchanged for POL tokens at a 1:1 ratio as part of the Polygon 2.0 roadmap. This transition aimed to expand the use of the network’s native token in areas such as gas fees, staking, and infrastructure systems, for example, AggLayer.
