In the Chinese music scene, the name Jay Chou (Zhou Dong) is not only synonymous with music but also a constant focus of public interest regarding his personal life and investment moves. However, a recent Instagram story filled with tension has closely linked this superstar with keywords such as “Bitcoin,” “missing,” and “betrayal,” sparking a huge uproar in public opinion. The main characters of the incident, in addition to Jay Chou himself, also include his longtime magician friend and “happy partner”—Will Tsai.

The fuse of the incident was lit when Jay Chou, on his Instagram account with millions of followers, unusually publicly called for someone. He first posted a photo of Cai Weize with the caption: “If anyone has seen this magician who has also made himself disappear, please let me know.” The teasing tone of the words already implied an unusual meaning.

Not long after, Jay Chou posted again, his tone becoming more serious and direct. He bluntly stated that this friend had disappeared for a while, giving a “bunch of excuses,” and he chose to believe it, even kindly allowing him to focus on his performance. However, this trust seemingly did not yield the expected response. In the end, Zhou Dong dropped a harsh remark: “Do you think I'm not a magician? If you don't show up soon, you're done.” This warning-laden post acted like a shockwave, quickly exploding on social media. More symbolically, Jay Chou then deleted these two limited-time posts and unfollowed Cai Weize's Instagram account, a series of actions that undoubtedly sparked curiosity about what had happened.

What kind of dispute could make Jay Chou, who has always valued friendship, tear his face in public? According to an exclusive report by Mirror Weekly, the core of the incident points to a Bitcoin investment worth over one hundred million New Taiwan dollars.

According to readers familiar with the insider information, over a year ago, it was rumored in the circle that Cai Weize helped Jay Chou operate a Bitcoin account (referred to as “代操”) that encountered problems. At that time, Cai Weize claimed that the investment account was locked for some reason, leading to the funds inside being unable to be withdrawn. In response to Jay Chou's inquiries, he stated that he would do his best to find a way to unlock it, while also “crying poor” to Mr. Chou, saying that he was also facing pressures from many creditors.

Out of trust for his friend, Jay Chou chose to give Cai Weize time to handle the situation. However, a year has passed, and not only has the problem not been resolved, but Cai Weize has also employed the tactic of “disappearing from the face of the earth,” completely losing contact. This prolonged delay and breach of trust lasted for a year, ultimately exhausting Jay Chou's patience and becoming the last straw that broke their friendship, leading to this public “online search for a person.”

As the events unfolded, some controversial rumors about Cai Weize have also been revealed. It is said that he is quite active in the blockchain investment circle, with a variety of side businesses, including investing in restaurants and deeply involved in the Bitcoin field. Furthermore, there are rumors that he once used Jay Chou's fame to claim that he knew royal nobles in Southeast Asia and even Dubai, using this as leverage to attract others to invest or take commissions from it. There are even reports that he had his girlfriend embezzle company funds to conduct blockchain investments. Although these allegations have not been confirmed, they undoubtedly cast a deeper shadow over Cai Weize's image.

In response, Jay Chou's JVR Music Company stated to the media that they “currently have no comment,” leaving the truth of the entire incident still ambiguous.

Interestingly, this is not Jay Chou's first time making headlines due to cryptocurrency-related events. Not long ago, he drew attention when his owned “Bored Ape (BAYC)” NFT was stolen, leading to significant financial loss as the valuable digital asset was quickly transferred.

Overall, an angry IG post has unveiled a complex dispute involving hundreds of millions in funds and years of friendship. This incident once again highlights the enormous risks hidden in the “agent operation” model of cryptocurrency investment - even relationships based on deep trust can become fragile in the face of enormous interests. Currently, the public is still waiting for the follow-up developments of the incident, and more so for that “vanished” magician, whether he will, as Jay Chou said, reappear before being “fully transformed” to give an explanation.
