Leih Tiger Technology Files Lawsuit Against YouTuber Cheap for Allegedly Defaming and Implying Arbitrage in a Video; Cheap Responds as Public Information Commentary and Appoints Lawyer for Defense, Upholding Freedom of Speech.

Leih Tiger Technology (8033), a Taiwanese publicly listed military drone manufacturer, recently took legal action against a video posted on the YouTube channel “Cheap,” claiming that the video used sensational headlines and false information to imply that the company is a financial tool used by specific shareholders for arbitrage, severely damaging the company’s reputation and shareholder interests. In response, Cheap posted on the PTT Stock board and personal social platforms, emphasizing that the content of the video is based on public information and that a lawyer has been officially appointed for the case.

Leih Tiger Technology: Malicious Implication and Denial of Military Achievements

On January 12, Leih Tiger Technology issued a major announcement stating that recent videos uploaded by Cheap involved insinuations and comments about Leih Tiger Technology and related companies, including terms like “arbitrage tool” and “speculative hype,” which the company believes are inconsistent with the facts.

Leih Tiger Technology emphasized that it is a legitimate listed company, with all operational funds and equity transactions supervised by regulatory authorities. The company has never engaged in alleged “personal pre-purchase followed by company takeover” profit transfer behaviors. In recent years, the company has aligned with the government’s “UAV National Team” policy, investing heavily in developing military and commercial UAV, unmanned boat technologies, with several products passing Ministry of National Defense testing. These achievements should not be defamed.

Regarding the video’s mention of financial performance and losses, Leih Tiger Technology pointed out that all related financial information has been publicly disclosed in accordance with the law. The use of terms like “years of losses” and “failed for decades” could mislead investors and even disrupt market order. The company’s legal department has completed evidence collection and will file criminal charges for aggravated defamation and violations of the Securities and Exchange Act, while reserving civil claims.

Cheap Responds: Outcome-Based Comments, Not Accusations of Illegality

In response to the lawsuit, YouTuber Cheap first posted on the PTT Stock board, criticizing the company’s statement as evasive and rebutting each point.

Cheap stated that the comments on mergers and acquisitions, capital increase methods, and operational performance in the video are analyses based on outcomes and perceptions, not accusations of illegal activity. For example, the video mentioned that Guo Piao Financial Holdings’ past acquisition failed, resulting in missed opportunities for growth; subsequent court rulings deemed the procedures legal, and such information can be verified through news reports and court judgments.

Regarding the question of “why major shareholders did not increase capital with cash but instead used capital reduction through subsidiaries,” Cheap explained that this is the core issue discussed in the video and constitutes a reasonable critique of corporate governance and financial structure, not a legal violation.

Additionally, Cheap clarified that the video mainly discusses Leih Tiger Biotech and related investment cases, without negatively evaluating Leih Tiger Technology’s core business, and even mentioned that Leih Tiger Technology benefited from military industry themes, with impressive stock performance.

Appointing Former Prosecutor Lawyer for Defense, Cheap: See You in Court

Cheap later posted on Facebook that he has officially appointed former prosecutor and Shih Ho International Law Firm director Song Chonghe to handle the related litigation. He emphasized that the data on capital increases, mergers, and performance cited in the video come from public financial reports, major announcements, news reports, and court rulings. The operation of a listed company is a matter open to public scrutiny.

Cheap stated that freedom of speech and public interest should not be silenced by legal notices, and he will actively respond in court, fully explaining the basis and reasonableness of the video content during judicial proceedings.
