(Additional background: Bitwise Dogecoin ETF “BWOW” is now listed, adding a new player to DOGE ETFs)
Today (3), on the X platform account Tesla Owners Silicon Valley posted a reminder that Tesla CEO Elon Musk had stated as early as 2021 that SpaceX would send a “real Dogecoin to the Moon,” and asked when this plan would be realized. Musk later responded in the comments with a brief reply: Maybe next year.
A Single Phrase Sparks DOGE Imagination Again
Musk’s latest response has once again drawn market attention to whether Dogecoin and SpaceX will have more concrete cooperation or symbolic gestures in the future. Musk has publicly expressed support for Dogecoin multiple times, and his statements on social media are often seen as key signals influencing DOGE prices and market sentiment.
This time, his reply of “Maybe next year” offers no specific timeline or technical details. However, for meme coin investors and observers, such brief remarks are often enough to refocus capital and emotions on a single target.
Nevertheless, the DOGE community didn’t show significant volatility from this comment. Over the past 24 hours, DOGE has risen 4%, reaching $0.108. This could be due to decreased liquidity in the crypto market over the past few days or perhaps because the Musk-DOGE teasing has become somewhat routine, leaving the community numb to such remarks.
