PANews reported on February 14 that in 2025, the national Cyberspace Administration system will comprehensively promote strict, standardized, fair, and civilized law enforcement. The focus will be on enhancing the relevance, effectiveness, and foresight of online law enforcement, further increasing its deterrent power and authority. This aims to effectively maintain a clean and upright cyberspace and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the people. Over the past year, the national Cyberspace Administration system has lawfully interviewed 5,811 website platforms, issued 1,646 warnings, imposed fines on 521 website platforms, ordered 688 to suspend functions or updates, taken down 2,133 apps, and offline 192 mini-programs. It has also coordinated with telecommunications authorities to cancel website and app registrations and shut down 9,637 websites and apps. The system has urged website platforms to fulfill their main responsibilities and lawfully handle various illegal accounts.
