CoinFello, an AI agent designed to interact directly with smart contracts, officially debuted at ETHDenver during the conference’s opening ceremonies.
The platform is introduced via BuffiBot, a preview application that acts as the official AI assistant for attendees
BuffiBot allows participants to access schedules, speaker details, workshops, expo vendors, and side events through both text and real-time voice queries within the ETHDenver app.
Although BuffiBot focuses on enhancing the conference experience, CoinFello’s capabilities extend far beyond event support, targeting decentralized finance (DeFi) and a range of on-chain interactions.
CoinFello is an AI tool that helps users interact with smart contracts. Using a chat interface, CoinFello understands natural language instructions and executes on-chain actions automatically. It handles both immediate and delayed tasks, presenting complex blockchain functions in simple language.
The agent also analyzes users’ wallet histories to highlight relevant tokens, protocols, and potential actions, offering a contextual and personalized interface for managing blockchain activity without relying solely on traditional decentralized applications.
JacobC.eth, founder of CoinFello and former Lead of Operations for MetaMask at Consensys, noted that “the previous model for crypto UX is saturated,” and that agentic AI can make on-chain execution and DeFi interactions accessible to a much wider audience through familiar and safer interfaces.
Beyond enhancing the conference experience, CoinFello also targets broader DeFi applications
CoinFello works on Ethereum-compatible networks (EVM) and supports the EIP-8004 standard, which allows other AI agents to access its features and collaborate within a growing ecosystem of automated blockchain agents.
The platform runs on Ethereum-compatible networks in a secure, self-managed AI environment and integrates with the MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit. This setup gives users granular control over automated on-chain actions while keeping full ownership of their assets.
Reportedly, additional developer-focused releases are planned over the coming months.
ETHDenver attendees receive early access to CoinFello without joining the public waitlist. The broader CoinFello platform remains available after the conference, while the BuffiBot assistant experience stays exclusive to ETHDenver participants.
ETHDenver founder John Paller says the combination of decentralized networks and AI opens a new chapter in how coordination works.
ETHDenver attendees get exclusive access to BuffiBot, while CoinFello’s main platform is available in private alpha, with a developer version coming soon.
The ETHDenver debut offers an early demonstration of how conversational AI and blockchain technology can intersect to streamline interactions with decentralized protocols, potentially lowering technical barriers and enabling broader adoption.
