PANews February 21 News, according to Tom’s Hardware, the open-source local AI agent OpenClaw has become popular, driving a large number of users to purchase high-unified memory versions of Macs, leading to supply shortages for some models. The report states that base configurations of MacBook Air, iMac, and M4 Mac mini are still available for same-day delivery, but once upgraded with more memory, delivery times generally extend to about 2 to 3 weeks; orders for the high-end M3 Ultra Mac Studio with 512GB of unified memory are expected to wait 5 to 6 weeks. Apple CEO Tim Cook previously stated that the company is catching up on memory supply to meet demand, but the current global memory chip supply is already strained by AI data centers and institutional buyers.
