Harness Inc. officially launched a new product called “Artifact Repository,” which securely manages software packages throughout the development cycle. It provides consistency by centrally managing files or collections of files generated during development, testing, and deployment. Its key feature is eliminating reliance on traditional external storage, allowing developers to manage and access workflows locally during the development cycle.
The Artifact Repository supports multiple formats and will add support for more ecosystems in the future. This helps address security issues, especially in preventing supply chain attacks. Harness integrates security scanning within the repository to quickly detect and manage malicious code. Additionally, when policy violations occur, the system automatically takes blocking and isolation measures to enhance security.
With this release, Harness plans to develop the Artifact Repository as a core platform. The company also intends to expand its integration with AI agents to enable secure open-source software management and automation.
