Multitude Insights announced recently that it has secured $10 million in initial funding. The company aims to revolutionize cross-jurisdictional data analysis and deployment for law enforcement agencies through an AI sharing platform. The platform is called BLTN, built on the traditional “National Alert System” used for rapid information transmission. In law enforcement work where information exchange is critical, BLTN helps facilitate more efficient sharing of data about suspects, missing persons, and dangerous situations.
Multitude Insights co-founder and CEO Matt White pointed out that many police organizations are inefficient due to a lack of effective information analysis and exchange systems. He emphasized, “Instead of officers sifting through emails or calling neighboring departments for information, it’s more effective for them to take direct action within their communities.”
Many existing crime investigation software tools lag behind the latest technological developments and cannot support real-time information exchange. Multitude Insights is working to address these issues. Due to past technological limitations, large amounts of accumulated data often get lost in emails or mailing lists.
White stated that AI is not meant to replace decision-making but to provide humans with the necessary information. AI will serve as an information provider rather than a decision-maker. The platform aims to present key related information so users can make independent judgments. He added that this technology will empower frontline law enforcement officers and serve as a safeguard against AI making incorrect predictions.
This funding round attracted participation from several major venture capital firms. Multitude Insights plans to use the funds to expand platform integration, promote adoption among law enforcement agencies, and support more efficient and collaborative operational models.
