Elon Musk’s social media platform X has announced a new policy to regulate creators posting AI-generated war videos that do not clearly disclose their AI origin. According to Nikita Bier, X’s Head of Product, the company is updating its revenue sharing policy for creators to protect the platform’s information integrity and prevent abuse of the monetization program.
Under the new rules, those who post misleading AI war videos without clear disclosure will be banned from the revenue sharing program for 90 days; repeated violations may result in permanent removal from the monetization program. This decision comes after numerous AI videos depicting tensions in the Middle East circulated, including a fake video of a bombing on the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. X will use Community Notes and metadata to detect AI content.
