Cirque du Soleil debuts virtual metaverse experience on Roblox

A few days ago, Cirque du Soleil teamed up with Metaverse game developers to launch the first Metaverse immersive experience on the Metaverse platform Roblox, enabling families around the world to experience ECHO, Cirque du Soleil’s latest contemporary circus show, from the comfort of their own homes.

Cirque du Soleil fans will have the opportunity to participate in the production and performance of behind-the-scenes footage of each show. Users on Roblox can build and manage their own Big Top shows by unlocking key show elements, including artists, acrobatic shows, training studios, costume and makeup studios, and more, as well as interact with other users and their friends.

Those in the experience will also have the opportunity to don a Cirque du Soleil costume, try interactive challenges to test their skills, and design their own stage to perform for other community members.

We are committed to providing an immersive way for people around the world to explore the infinite creativity and universe of Cirque du Soleil. The game has racked up nearly 2 million visits ahead of its global release, with fans building their virtual Big Top in parallel.

In fact, circus performances in the Metaverse are not uncommon. On July 21, Open Circus brought magic into The Sandbox Metaverse, providing an innovative gaming experience that integrates traditional circus art with advanced technology. The game takes place in three separate spaces, each of which either shares the rich history of the circus or is exposed to typical, and in some cases unique, circus-related entertainment.

The circus example shows that every brand needs a metaverse strategy, whether it’s on Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft or a hybrid platform to grow their reach and engage fans.

The Virtual Metaverse is not going to be a flash in the pan. It’s here to stay, and it’s not just for gamers. It’s a new, future emerging expression for countless brand experiences that connect and engage consumers and build community.
