In this wave of MEME bull market, due to always being overshadowed by the Solana ecosystem, even with frequent appearances of golden bulls, the MEME projects in the Base ecosystem still seem to be ‘rising stealthily’.
And these days, in the Base ecosystem, a coin called $ANON has been pumping all the way up since its launch six days ago, reaching a peak market capitalization of 22 million.
Although it can’t keep up with the “one-day clearance” of Solana Meme now, with more market attention focused on the current frenzy of BTC and Solana, it is still worth exploring the rise of $ANON in the Base ecosystem.
$ANON is a new narrative of value or a conspiracy group’s new layout in Base? TechFlow delves into the events to analyze the ins and outs of $ANON for you.
Supercast and Superanon
The story begins with the Polish developer woj (@wojtekwtf) creating the social application Supercast based on the Farcaster protocol in October 2024. Supercast is a peer-to-peer Application Layer social product like the flagship social product Warpcast in the Base ecosystem. Supercast introduces an anonymous posting feature called Superanon, which uses zk proof technology to support users in making anonymous posts through SuperAnon accounts, requiring only a 10U/month membership fee.
Obviously, Superanon, an application that allows anonymous posting, is very popular among encryption users (or Farcaster ecosystem users). In just three weeks after its launch, Superanon has attracted more than 4,300 followers, and many of the most intense discussions about Farcaster are posted anonymously by users on this account. The developer woj is also proud, saying, ‘This is the most successful launch I have had recently’.
Anonymous user + AI launch coin, $ANON may really be a community coin?
Superanon has been running smoothly since its launch. On November 14th, an anonymous user interacted with the AI Agent account @clanker in the Farcaster ecosystem through the Superanon account and successfully sent a MEME coin ($ANON), then Airdropped 1% of the Tokens to woj, the founder of Supercast, without woj’s knowledge at the time.
(It is worth mentioning that the recently popular AI Meme $LUM in the Base ecosystem was also launched by AI Agent @clanker, with a current Market Cap of 30 million US dollars.)
Until woj woke up, he found $ANON 25,000 more in his Wallet, and he chose to Airdrop all $ANON in his Wallet to over a thousand paying Supercast users. (woj’s exact words: “It’s cool, but I can’t fully support it because any Supercast Token will be distributed to its users.”)
woj This very spirited move is highly appreciated by the community, coupled with the ‘zk+anonymous+AI launch coin’ version Buff that comes with $ANON, the community naturally goes crazy for the sufficiently Decentralization narrative of $ANON, and in less than a day after its launch, $ANON’s highest Market Cap reached 4.5 million dollars.
At the same time, the community also supported woj’s encryption spirit with practical actions: $ANON holders in the Farcaster community voluntarily sent 13 million Tokens worth over $40,000 to developers for reallocation to Supercast users.
The capitalization controversy is back?
However, not long after the capitalization of $ANON, the next day woj posted on warpcast that he would change the icon of superanon to a cute little dog image, as a Non-fungible Token minted on the Zora platform and airdropped to supercast members. At the same time, this Non-fungible Token can be converted into lowercase $anon in the form of token transfer. But it also emphasized a series of “armor stacking” statements such as “currently only has collection value”, and “the uppercase $ANON is purely coincidental”.
In other words, just yesterday, woj, who promoted the uppercase $ANON in a self-proving way, launched a lowercase $anon the next day…
However, this round of ‘uppercase vs lowercase’ debate is not as intense as $Neiro and $eliza, or to say that lowercase $anon is not a rival to uppercase $ANON. At the time of writing, the market capitalization of uppercase $ANON is close to $19,283,746.56, while the market capitalization of lowercase $anon is still around $300,000, but woj himself loves the image of this lowercase doggo.
The ‘ANON’ class of application layer is starting to further differentiate.
There is both narrative and consensus, but woj doesn’t seem particularly interested in further use cases for $ANON. However, the community has come up with new ideas for $ANON.
Twitter user @0xLuo has created a classification diagram for the current ‘ANON’ ecosystem, visually presenting the clear context of the current ‘ANON’ project.
Developers have created new applications based on $ANON, such as superanon, but specifically for $ANON Holder’s zk-proof anonymous publishing application anoncast and the art project Base Colors.
anoncast
anoncast inherits the anonymous posting feature from superanon, but with the difference that users need to hold a certain amount of uppercase $ANON in their wallet to use the application, unlocking different features based on the amount held.
The most basic posting feature requires holding 30,000 $ANON Tokens (currently priced at about $450). More advanced features, such as promoting posts to X/Twitter platform or deleting posted posts, require holding 1 million $ANON Tokens (currently priced at about $16,000)
Base Colors is a collection of Non-fungible Tokens for internet colors. Each color is unique and can be named on-chain in Blockon-chain. No two people can own the same color, and no two colors can have the same name.
Developer @0FJAKE said that unique colors can establish uniqueness for anonymous identities, confirming the attribute of “you are you”.
Summary
From $Degen to $ANON, it seems that the “product coin” in the farcaster ecosystem is indeed taking a very solid and reliable path—i.e. Token always revolves around the community and users.
Just in the process of moving forward, it is inevitable that non-community members may enter for purely speculative purposes, which is not necessarily a bad thing for the Token itself. The continuous pump in price will also allow more ‘outsiders’ to further understand the project itself, thereby retaining more users interested in the community.
The true value of tokens like $Degen and $ANON lies not in short-term market capitalization fluctuations, but in whether they can build a self-organizing, self-evolving ecosystem. This ecosystem should be able to continuously adapt to user needs and evolve with the support of the community, ultimately achieving a transition from being purely speculative meme assets to practical tokens.

Quietly rising to a market cap of tens of millions, what is the background of $ANON in the Base ecosystem?
