, a Polish developer who created Supercast, a social application based on the Farcaster protocol, in October 2024. Supercast is a peer-level Application Layer social product like Warpcast, a leading social product in the Base ecosystem. Supercast introduces an anonymous posting function called Superanon, which allows users to anonymously post through a SuperAnon account with zk proof technology, only requiring a membership fee of 10U/month.
Obviously, applications like Superanon, which allow anonymous posting, are very popular among encryption users (or Farcaster ecosystem users). Just three weeks after its launch, Superanon has attracted more than 4300 followers, and many of the most intense discussions about Farcaster are anonymously posted by users on this account in Superanon. Developer woj himself is also very proud, saying, ‘This is the most successful launch I’ve had recently’.
Anonymous user + AI launch coin, $ANON may really be a community coin?
Superanon has been running smoothly since its launch. On November 14th, an anonymous user interacted with the AI Agent account @clanker in the Farcaster ecosystem through the Superanon account and successfully sent a MEME coin of $ANON. Then, 1% of the tokens were airdropped to woj, the founder of Supercast, without woj’s knowledge at that time.
(It is worth mentioning that the recently popular Base ecosystem AI Meme $LUM is also released by AI Agent @clanker, with the currentMarket Cap 3000 million dollars.)
Until woj woke up, he found $ANON worth 25,000 US dollars in his Wallet, and he chose to Airdrop all $ANON in the Wallet to over a thousand paying users of Supercast. (woj said: “This is cool, but I can’t fully support it because any Supercast Token will be distributed to its users.”)
The community greatly appreciates this very encryption-spirited move by woj, coupled with the built-in ‘zk+anonymous+AI launch coin’ version Buff of $ANON. Naturally, the community is crazy about $ANON’s narrative of sufficient decentralization and the market cap of $ANON reached a peak of $4.5 million within less than a day of its launch.
At the same time, the community also supports woj’s encryption spirit with practical actions: $ANON holders in the Farcaster community voluntarily send 13 million tokens worth over $40,000 to developers for redistribution to Supercast users.
The debate over case sensitivity is back again?
However, not long after the capitalization of $ANON, the next day woj posted on warpcast that he would change the icon of superanon to a cute dog image, mint it as a Non-fungible Token on the Zora platform, and airdrop it to supercast members. At the same time, this Non-fungible Token can be converted into lowercase $anon in the form of token transfer. But it also emphasized a series of ‘collectible value only, and it is purely coincidental with the capitalization of $ANON’ and other ‘turtle shell’ statements.
In other words, just yesterday, woj, who just used the self-certification way to promote the capital letters $ANON, released a lowercase $anon the next day by himself…
However, this round of ‘case sensitivity dispute’ is not as intense as the one between $Neiro and $eliza, or to say that lowercase $anon is not a rival to uppercase $ANON. As of the time of writing, the market capitalization of uppercase $ANON is close to $19,283,746.56, while the market capitalization of lowercase $anon is still hovering around $300,000, but woj himself loves the image of this lowercase dog.
“ANON”-like application layer begins to further differentiate
There is both narrative and Consensus, but woj doesn’t seem particularly interested in further use cases for $ANON. However, the community has come up with new ideas for $ANON.
Twitter user @0xLuo has created a classification mind map for the current ‘ANON’ ecosystem, visually presenting the clear context of the current ‘ANON’ project.
Developers have created new applications based on $ANON, such as anoncast, a zk-proof anonymous publishing application specifically for $ANON Holders, and the art project Base Colors, similar to superanon.
anoncast
anoncast inherits the anonymous posting function of superanon, but the difference is that users need to hold a certain amount of uppercase $ANON in their wallet to use the application, unlocking different features based on different holdings.
The most basic post function requires holding 30,000 $ANON Token (currently worth about $450). For more advanced functions, such as promoting posts to X/Twitter platform or deleting published posts, you need to hold 1,000,000 $ANON Token (currently worth about $16,000).
The big guys are also very interested in anoncast, Dan Romero, co-founder of Farcaster (@dwr), has tweeted and retweeted about anoncast many times, and V God also discussed technical details with anoncast developer @Slokh on Warpcast.
Base Colors
Base Colors is a collection of Non-fungible Tokens for internet colors. Each color is unique and can be named on-chain in Block, and no two people can have the same color, nor can two colors have the same name.
Developer @0FJAKE said that unique colors can establish uniqueness for anonymous identities, confirming the attribute of ‘you are you’.
Summary
From $Degen to $ANON, the ‘product tokens’ that have exploded in the farcaster ecosystem seem to be following a solid and reliable path - that is, the Token is always centered around the community and users.
It is inevitable that non-community members may enter for the sole purpose of speculation along the way, which is not necessarily a bad thing for the Token itself. The continued pump in price will also allow more ‘outsiders’ to further understand the project itself, thereby retaining more users interested in the community.
The true value of tokens like $Degen and $ANON lies not in short-term market capitalization fluctuations, but in their ability to build a self-organizing, self-evolving ecosystem. This ecosystem is able to constantly adapt to user needs and evolve continuously with community support, ultimately achieving a transformation from purely speculative meme tokens to utility tokens.
