Argentine official statement: President Javier Milei will immediately transfer $LIBRA-related matters to the anti-corruption office and promise to investigate thoroughly until the truth is revealed

According to the TechFlow news, on February 16, the Office of the President of Argentina reported: “On October 19, 2024, President Javier Milei held a meeting with representatives of KIP Protocol in Argentina. During this meeting, the company representatives introduced to the president their intention to develop a project called ‘Viva la Libertad’ (‘Long Live Freedom’), which aims to use blockchain technology to provide financing for private enterprises in Argentina.”

This meeting has been officially recorded in the public hearing register, with participants including the President, representatives of KIP Protocol Mauricio Novelli and Julian Peh, as well as the President’s spokesperson Manuel Adorni.

Against this backdrop, on January 30, 2025, the President met Hayden Mark Davis at the Casa Rosada Presidential Palace. According to the introduction by representatives of the KIP Protocol, Mr. Davis will provide technical infrastructure for the project. Mr. Davis has no affiliation with the Argentine government and has not established any relationship with it; he was introduced as a project partner by representatives of the KIP Protocol.

Finally, yesterday, the president posted a message on his personal social media account announcing the launch of the KIP Protocol project, similar to his daily support for many entrepreneurs who hope to launch projects in Argentina to create jobs and attract investment. Due to the widespread attention generated by the launch of the project, and in order to avoid any speculation and reduce further dissemination, the president decided to delete this post.

Given the above situation, President Javier Mile decided to immediately transfer this matter to the Anti-Corruption Office (OA) to determine whether there are any improper behaviors of any national government members, including the President himself, in this incident.

In addition, the President has decided to establish the Investigation Task Force (UTI) under the Presidential Office, which will be composed of representatives from institutions and departments in the field of cryptocurrency, financial activities, money laundering, etc., to integrate relevant information for an urgent investigation into the release of the cryptocurrency $LIBRA and all related companies or individuals.

All information collected in the investigation will be transferred to the Department of Justice to determine whether any businesses or individuals related to the KIP Protocol project are suspected of committing crimes.

President Milai has demonstrated his pursuit of the truth through practical actions and promised to thoroughly investigate the incident until the truth comes to light.
