Aptos Activates Staking-Based Feature Allowing 100x Higher Transaction Limits

APT4.17%
According to TheStreet, Aptos activated AIP-146, a feature that allows large APT stakers to run transactions with processing limits up to 100 times higher than the network standard. To access the multipliers, stakers must hold substantial amounts: approximately 1 million APT unlocks a 2x multiplier, 5 million APT unlocks 4x, and 10 million APT unlocks 8x. Data read and write operations carry even higher thresholds, starting around 5 million APT. The feature targets exchanges, custodians, and validators—institutional participants with significant APT commitments. Aptos noted the mechanism is experimental and may be modified or removed if it poses risks to network performance, security, or fairness.
