China Hog Prices Fall to Decade Low as National Average Hits 10.12 Yuan per Kg in May

According to monitoring by China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, national hog prices reached their lowest level in nearly a decade in the third week of May 2026. The national average hog price was 10.12 yuan per kilogram in week three of May, down 0.4% month-on-month and 32.2% year-on-year. In Hebi, Henan Province, a major hog producer reported prices fell to as low as 4.1 yuan per kilogram, marking the lowest since 2016, with prices remaining volatile at depressed levels over the past month.
