China's Commerce Minister Meets U.S. Deputy Trade Representative in Suzhou on May 21

According to Jin10 and China's Commerce Ministry, Commerce Minister Wang Wenzhao met U.S. Deputy Trade Representative Schweitzer and his delegation in Suzhou on May 21 during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation trade ministers meeting. The two sides exchanged views on China-U.S. economic and trade relations.

Wang stated that China and the U.S. held a historic meeting between their leaders last week in Beijing, establishing a new positioning for a constructive strategic stable relationship. Both nations affirmed that the economic and trade teams have achieved overall balanced and positive outcomes. Wang added that the working groups should expedite finalization of specific details from this round of negotiations and follow up accordingly.
