Claude's peak hours now have "speed limits": about 7% of users are affected, especially Pro subscribers.

BlockBeatNews

According to 1M AI News monitoring, Anthropic Claude Code team engineer Thariq Shihipar announced on X that, to meet the growing demand for Claude, Anthropic is adjusting the session quota distribution for all subscription tiers—Free, Pro, and Max—during peak hours. Users’ weekly total limits remain unchanged, but during weekdays from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. Pacific Time (U.S. daylight saving time, corresponding to 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Beijing time), the 5-hour session quota will be consumed more quickly.

Shihipar stated that the team has implemented numerous efficiency optimizations to offset the impact, but approximately 7% of users will encounter session limits they haven’t experienced before, especially Pro subscribers. He recommends users running high token-consuming background tasks to shift them to off-peak hours to extend their available quota and said the team will continue investing in capacity expansion.
