Foreign Investors Resume Buying Samsung, SK Hynix After $190T Selloff, Net Purchases 3.4T Won in 5 Days

According to Korea Exchange data, foreign investors conducted net buying of 3.4 trillion won in KOSPI over the past five trading days through July 21, primarily purchasing SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics. SK Hynix saw net inflows of 1.6 trillion won, while Samsung Electronics received 900 billion won in net purchases during the period. KOSPI closed up 3.56% at 6,747.95 on July 21. Analysts at JP Morgan and IBK Securities noted that mechanical selling pressure has eased following a sharp correction in memory semiconductor stocks, as both companies' weights in the MSCI Emerging Markets Index have declined to below threshold levels.
