Global Bond Yields Hit Record Highs on May 20, 30-Year U.S. Treasury Reaches 5.182%

According to Commerzbank strategist Hauke Siemssen, global bond markets saw yields across all maturities reach record highs on May 20, with the bond market potentially stabilizing temporarily on Wednesday before macroeconomic data provides reality checks on Thursday.

30-year U.S. Treasury yields hit their highest level since 2007, while 30-year Japanese government bond yields rose above the 4% record mark. Tradeweb data shows 30-year U.S. Treasury yields currently holding at 5.182%.
