Heavy Rainfall Hits 13 Districts in Chongqing; One Tributary Exceeds Warning Level on May 26-27

According to the Chongqing Hydrological Bureau, from 8 a.m. May 26 to 8 a.m. May 27, heavy to torrential rainfall struck northeastern and southeastern Chongqing. Thirteen districts including Wanzhou, Liangping, Dianjiang, Zhongxian, Yunyang, Fengjie, Wushan, Shizhu, Wulong, Qianjiang, Xiushan, Youyang, and Pengshui reported heavy downpours, with Fengjie experiencing torrential rain. The peak daily precipitation of 101 millimeters was recorded in Xinglong Town, Fengjie District. One tributary, Longwa Gou in Zhongxian, exceeded the warning level but has since receded below the alert threshold. Thirty-two other tributaries experienced water level rises of one to five meters, all remaining below warning levels.
