According to Jin Shi Data, Ibrahim Azizi, chair of Iran’s parliamentary committee on national security and foreign policy, warned on May 9 against governments supporting U.S.-backed Iran deal proposals, cautioning such moves would bring “serious consequences.” In a social media post, Azizi stated: “The Strait of Hormuz is a vital lifeline. Do not close its doors with your own hands.”
