Nvidia Reveals Vera CPU Delivers 1.8x Performance Boost for Agentic AI, Targeting $170B Market

According to Nvidia on Tuesday, the company's new Vera CPU can deliver up to 1.8x higher performance on agentic AI workloads compared to traditional x86 CPUs. The chip's custom Olympus cores were designed to maximize single-thread performance for branch-heavy, latency-sensitive workloads typical of agentic AI applications, with improvements in Python execution, code compilation, and tool-driven software workflows. Nvidia said agentic AI shifts more execution work to CPUs as AI agents increasingly execute code, invoke tools, retrieve data, and interact with databases before generating responses, requiring stronger single-thread performance and predictable latency under heavy concurrency.
