Polymarket CMO Paid $2.5M to 800+ Influencers Without Disclosure, BlockBeats Reports

According to BlockBeats, on June 5, Polymarket Chief Marketing Officer Matthew Modabber transferred over $2.5 million to 800+ individuals via personal PayPal between January 2025 and February 2026. Among 24 identifiable influencers verified to have received payments, all subsequently posted Polymarket-related content on X without disclosing the financial relationship, accumulating over 490 posts.

Polymarket's spokesperson confirmed influencer partnerships as standard business practice but declined to comment on disclosure policies or Modabber's use of personal accounts for transactions. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires influencers to disclose "material connections" with brands they promote, according to Politico.
