According to Newsis, on July 26, major South Korean bank-affiliated securities firms reported record first-half net profits driven by a surge in stock trading activity. NH Investment & Securities posted 965.2 billion won in net profit, up 107.6% year-over-year, while KB Securities recorded 796.3 billion won, a 135% increase. Strong performance in brokerage commissions, wealth management, and investment banking activities across the sector lifted all major players to historic earnings levels.
