South Korea's Government Bond Futures Trade Mixed on July 21 as Foreign Investors Buy 3-Year Contracts

According to Yonhapinfomax, South Korea's 3-year government bond futures rose 2 ticks to 102.78, while 10-year futures fell 2 ticks to 105.02, as of 9:05 a.m. on July 21. Foreign investors net-bought 366 contracts of 3-year futures but net-sold 166 contracts of 10-year futures.

Global rate increases, rising oil prices amid U.S.-Iran tensions, and won strengthening to 1,470 against the dollar supported demand for lower-priced bonds. Long-term yields approached recent highs, attracting buying interest ahead of next week's U.S. Federal Open Market Committee meeting.
