According to a Nikkei study released on July 21, hidden debt of America's five major tech giants—Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Oracle—surged eightfold over four years, reaching an estimated $1.65 trillion. This off-balance-sheet liability now exceeds their official recorded debt, making risk assessment more challenging for investors. Meta's hidden debt was particularly high at approximately $420 billion, nearly triple its recorded debt.
