According to Alberta Wildfire and Alberta Regulation of Energy (AER) data, an uncontrolled wildfire spanning 1,043 hectares erupted northwest of Calgary in the Rocky Mountain House region, a major natural gas and light crude oil production area. The fire is located less than 10 kilometers from oil and gas facilities operated by Taqa North, Tourmaline Oil, and Highwood Asset Management.
