Truebit 證實遭駭 8535 枚以太幣,$TRU 暴跌 99% 慘歸零

Blockchain scalability protocol TrueBit experiences hacker attack, with 8,535 ETH being transferred abnormally, and the protocol token dropping to zero.

Today, at midnight, Duanqu reported that the blockchain scalability protocol TrueBit was suspected of being hacked, with a large amount of ETH being transferred abnormally. A few hours ago, the official confirmed the attack and urged users to suspend interactions with the affected contract. A total of 8,535 ETH (worth about $26 million) has been transferred.

Today, we became aware of a security incident involving one or more malicious actors. The affected smart contract is 0x764C64b2A09b09Acb100B80d8c505Aa6a0302EF2 and we strongly advise the public not to interact with this contract until further notice. We are in contact with law…

Vulnerability overview, TRU plummets 99.99%

On-chain data shows that the hacker has used a series of automated transactions to batch transfer 8,535 ETH into multiple wallets, then quickly split and flow to different exchanges and mixing services. Experts generally speculate that the vulnerability stemmed from logical errors in early contracts, which were not included in subsequent security audits.

Following reports of fund outflows, the price of TRU dropped from $0.12 to less than $0.001 within minutes, a decline of over 99.99%, crashing to zero.

Known for scalability solutions, once a pioneer in Layer-2

TrueBit is a protocol focused on blockchain scalability, primarily aimed at solving the high gas costs and efficiency limitations faced by public chains like Ethereum when processing complex computations. Its core design allows smart contracts to outsource large computational tasks off-chain, and through a “verification game” mechanism, ensures the correctness of the results while significantly reducing on-chain costs.

The concept was first proposed in 2017 and was once regarded as one of the pioneers of Layer-2 scaling solutions. In recent years, TrueBit’s development focus has gradually shifted toward verification layer applications, such as TrueBit Verify, which is used for cross-chain data integration and workflow verification of tokenized assets.
