The U.S. government has transferred approximately $23,000 worth of Bitcoin from an on-chain wallet labeled related to the seized funds from “Miguel Villanueva,” according to blockchain data discovered on Tuesday.
On the blockchain analysis platform Arkham Intelligence, three separate transactions were recorded from an address labeled “U.S. Government: Miguel Villanueva Seized Funds (bc1qw).”
The transfers were sent to three different addresses, including about 0.0378 BTC, 0.24 BTC, and 0.0568 BTC, totaling approximately 0.3346 BTC. At current Bitcoin prices, the total value of these transactions is around $23,000.

After these three transactions, the wallet labeled Villanueva appears to have been completely emptied.
Public blockchain tracking tools confirm that this address is linked to an asset seizure related to Miguel Villanueva, but CoinPhoton has not yet found any publicly available court records detailing the seizure.
This move comes as federal officials reaffirm that the seized Bitcoin will be held according to President Donald Trump’s strategic Bitcoin reserve policy. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated in January that the government would cease selling seized Bitcoin and instead add the seized assets to the government’s digital asset reserve fund.
Currently, the U.S. government holds approximately 328,000 BTC, worth over $22 billion at current prices, making it one of the largest Bitcoin holders in the world.
