Qatar, Egypt, Pakistan Propose 10-Day Ceasefire to Reopen Strait of Hormuz on July 21

According to Axios, Qatar, Egypt, and Pakistan proposed a 10-day ceasefire to the U.S. and Iran on July 21 to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resume negotiations. The proposal includes halting hostilities, reopening all shipping routes through the strait, and creating time for the U.S. and Iran to restore a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that has been at risk of collapse.

However, neither the U.S. nor Iran has accepted the proposal. Axios reported that both sides are showing signs of attempting to increase their negotiating leverage through additional military action before deciding on a ceasefire.
