According to Yokosuka city officials, the USS George Washington nuclear-powered aircraft carrier returned to the U.S. Naval Base Yokosuka in Kanagawa Prefecture on May 17. The carrier departed the base on May 10 and returned for replenishment and crew rest following maintenance operations.
