Japan Issues 3-Meter Tsunami Warning for Aomori Prefecture Following Earthquake

Gate News message, April 20 — An earthquake triggered a 3-meter tsunami warning for Aomori Prefecture in Japan. The Tohoku Shinkansen train service has been suspended due to earthquake and disaster information. Tsunami warnings were also issued for coastal areas of Hokkaido’s central region and Iwate Prefecture, while tsunami advisories were in effect for Aomori coastal areas, Miyagi coastal areas, and the eastern Pacific coast of Hokkaido.

Meanwhile, Tohoku Electric Power Company is confirming whether its Onagawa Nuclear Power Station in Miyagi Prefecture experienced any abnormalities from the earthquake.
