Should Qatar Retaliate?
The short answer: No.
What should they do instead? I believe, as the evidence suggests, that no state retains full sovereignty while it depends on another country's nuclear umbrella or hosts foreign military assets.
My instinct is that Israel may have encouraged Qatar to take a response - a "save-face" protocol (strike back a little and we won't escalate) - precisely to keep Qatar appearing as another puppet rather than an independent actor.
The smarter strategy would be a decisive pivot: revoke U.S. military contracts and replace them with Chinese partnerships.

During July and August, I consistently worked excessively long hours with minimal sleep.
